Rob was born and raised in Cambridge, Ontario. He
attended Glenview Park Secondary School and then headed to
Conestoga College to fulfill his dream of becoming a
police officer. After graduating from the Law and
Security program Rob had 2 days of rest before starting
his career with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). He
was posted in Simcoe, Ontario where he worked in uniform
for 3 years before entering into the Criminal
Investigations Unit as a Plain Clothes Detective. Rob
then spent 4 years in the “Crime Unit” investigating major
crimes such as Robberies, Sexual Assaults and Homicides.
After 7 years at the
Simcoe Detachment Rob was posted as a Detective in the
Child Pornography Section of the OPP where he became one
of the first officers in Canada to take on the role of
doing Online Undercover work. This work also involved
face to face meetings with child pornographers and child
molesters. Rob became an expert in the field of online
undercover work and lectured in Spain, France, Belgium and
Brazil as well as across Canada and in the United States.
During this time Rob spoke to many groups such as Interpol
and to the Members of Parliament in Ottawa, Canada. In
2000, Rob was promoted to Detective Sergeant and was
second in command of the Child Pornography Section.
During this time he managed officers within the Section,
organized and investigated major projects as well as a 2
year Canada wide operation. |
